In memory

Tuhtamurad Dzhuraevich Dzhuraev (1934-2009) - famous mathematician, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and academician of the International Academy of Culture and Knowledge named after A.I. Ataturk, Academician of the International Academy of Science, Education, Industry and Arts (USA), Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan, laureate of the State Prize named after A. Biruni, awarded the orders "Dustlik" (1996), "Mehnat Shukhrati" (1999). T.D.Dzhuraev is a prominent specialist in the field of differential equations and mathematical physics, a major organizer of science and education, a well-known scientist who made a significant contribution to the development of mathematics. The creation and rapid development of the world famous scientific school in the field of the theory of equations of mixed, composite and mixed-composite types is directly related to the name of T.D.Dzhuraev. Fundamental scientific research T.D.Dzhuraev, aimed at the development of the theory of non-classical equations of mathematical physics, and research work aimed at solving mathematical problems in the theory of the boundary layer, which is an urgent problem in mechanics, have been recognized by the world mathematical community and are recognized as world-renowned experts in this field. T.D.Dzhuraev was born on October 25, 1934 in the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region. After graduating from high school in 1953, he entered the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the Central Asian State University, from which he graduated with honors in 1958. Well-known scientific schools headed by a number of mathematicians, primarily academicians A.V.Bitsadze, O.A.Oleinik had a great and fruitful influence on the formation of T.D.Dzhuraev as a scientist. The talented scientist has earned a huge scientific reputation for his work: in 1962 he defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, in 1972 - his doctorate, and in 1974 he received the title of professor. In the same year, T.D.Dzhuraev was awarded the Abu Raikhan Biruni State Prize for his research on the theory of differential equations. In 1979 he was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 1991 he was awarded the title "Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan". T.D.Dzhuraev made a significant contribution to the development of the theory of boundary value problems for non-classical equations of mathematical physics. Elliptic-hyperbolic, elliptic-parabolic and parabolic-hyperbolic equations of mixed type were studied. Studies of the last two types of equations are the most important and form the basis of scientific research in this area. Boundary value problems for parabolic-hyperbolic equations of mixed type, the line of variation of which is unknown, are extremely important for practical application, were first studied by T.D.Dzhuraev and his students. Currently, this direction is being actively developed by his students under the title "Free Boundary Problems". Parabolic-hyperbolic equations in three-dimensional finite and infinite domains were also first investigated by T.D.Dzhuraev. The study of high-order partial differential equations plays an important role in the research of T.D.Dzhuraev. He showed methods for the complete classification of equations of the third and fourth orders and the canonical forms of these equations. Under the leadership of T.D.Dzhuraev, equations of high odd order with multiple characteristics were first investigated, their fundamental and elementary solutions were constructed, and then they were applied to solve boundary value problems. The main scientific works of T.D.Dzhuraev are devoted to the formulation and study of boundary value problems for equations of the third order, containing in the main part elliptic-parabolic and elliptic-hyperbolic operators. His scientific works formed the basis of fundamental work on the theory of mixed-type equations. A new method for solving these equations was proposed, that is, a method for solving equations of composite and mixed-composite types by reducing them to a second-order equation with an unknown function on the right, and it is now widely used. Research on the spectral theory of composite and mixed-composite operators began under the direction of T.D.Dzhuraev and with his direct participation. T.D.Dzhuraev made a huge contribution to the development of the mathematical theory of the boundary layer, which is the most important branch of modern hydromechanics. The scientist proved that for the system of Prandtal equations, representing stationary and unsteady flows of a compressible and incompressible fluid, the main problems of the boundary layer have an unambiguous solution, and interpreted smooth and three-dimensional axisymmetric fluid flows. T.D.Dzhuraev is the author of 3 monographs, 4 textbooks and teaching aids, as well as more than 300 scientific articles published in national and international scientific journals. T.D.Dzhuraev is well known in Uzbekistan as an excellent leader in the education and science system. From 1974 to 1985 he headed the Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Resistance of Structures of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, from 1985 to 1992 and from 1997 to 2003 he headed the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan. T.D.Dzhuraev in 1992-1995 worked as the rector of the Tashkent State University, and from 1994 to 1999 he was a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and in 1995-2000 he worked as the president of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. T.D.Dzhuraev always combined pedagogical and social work. He was the chairman of the Problem Council "Mathematics" at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, editor-in-chief of the "Uzbek Mathematical Journal", president of the Mathematical Society of Uzbekistan, chairman of Academic Councils and scientific seminars. T.D.Dzhuraev made a lot of efforts to raise the authority and prestige of science in Uzbekistan. T.D.Dzhuraev made a significant contribution to the formation of highly qualified specialists both in the republic and in the Central Asian region. Under his leadership, 8 doctors and more than 40 candidates of sciences have been trained. T. D. Dzhuraev is an active participant and organizer of many international scientific forums, has repeatedly represented mathematical science abroad. T.D.Dzhuraev, as part of state and scientific delegations, visited the USA, France, Turkey, Germany, Russia, England, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, China, and India. Today, T.D.Dzhuraevs students successfully work in various sectors of our country, as well as abroad, and continue his research work. Academician Tukhtamurad Dzhuraevich Dzhuraev, a great scientist, a caring teacher, a great specialist who made a great contribution to the training of qualified personnel in our country, will forever remain in the memory of his friends, colleagues, students and children.
